The southwest Las Vegas property is set to open in just under two months.
Liz Witrago, a veteran of establishments like MGM Grand and Vdara, is among those keen on pursuing a career at the forthcoming Durango Resort and Casino. She expressed her desire to remain in the industry but is now exploring opportunities beyond the Strip.
“I believe this is an excellent place to embark on a journey with the company,” Witrago remarked.
Assistant General Manager Eigenrauch, who is also part of the property’s leadership team, revealed that they have already hired approximately 500 team members and are aiming to bring on an additional 1,200.
MOELLER: With 1,200 more to go and just two months left, do you think you can accomplish it?
EIGENRAUCH: Absolutely. We’ve already conducted 900 interview sessions, with more scheduled.
Durango is actively recruiting for various roles, including guest room attendants, table game dealers, slot attendants, food and beverage staff, and busser chefs.
While the casino and resort are scheduled to open on November 20, it’s worth noting that several other major properties are also gearing up for their grand openings this year. This includes the F1 Paddock Facility, the MSG Sphere, and the Fountainbleau Resort on the north end of the Strip, all of which are actively seeking new team members as well.
